About
Growing up as a third culture kid, my identity profoundly shapes the themes I explore through photography. Storytelling, central to my half-Mexican and half-Chilean heritage shaped by exile, and being brought up between New Zealand and Mexico City became a pathway to self discovery when I began creating photographs nearly a decade ago. Through visual narratives, I honour the cultures that formed me and the histories that run through my family.
Through my lens, I navigate the complexities of identity and human connection, exploring migration, cultural adaptation, and the ways self perception shifts across societies, particularly within patriarchal contexts. My work reflects how a multicultural upbringing shapes one’s sense of belonging to both people and place, revealing the ongoing negotiation between heritage and home.
